It’s finally possible to easily change attachments!
Those who share a love and appreciation for Haflingers will more than likely be familiar with the North Hesse breeding establishment Stange. This stud has some state winners in its record of success.
The sisters, Diana Stange and Bianca Fuchs, are the second generation running the breeding establishment. Their father, Kurt Stange, received his first Haflinger at the age of 15 and alongside his job as a dairy farmer, in the 80s, he began to breed the horses, which are full of character, with his own stallion by natural cover. Through the years, horse breeding became of more significance to the Stange family - both in a thematic and economic sense. Until 2010, about 50 dairy cows plus offspring were kept on the holding. After this, the Haflingers took over all of the stables, as a result, they currently have around 40 of their own Haflingers (of which 8-10 are mares and one is a stallion) and approx. 18 retired horses that define the operational process. With 27 ha of grassland in close proximity, they are able to graze the animals from the end of April until the beginning of December. The customer base for both successful breeders is an international one.
A Weidemann farm loader has been used for a long time by the Stange family for their animal care, and since 2016, they have been contently driving the compact 1140 Hoftrac. For daily arising work, they have a grab bucket, a lightweight bucket, a ground planer, a pallet fork and a bale fork. However, there was one thing that really annoyed the ladies when using the machine: the difficult coupling and uncoupling of hydraulic hoses when changing attachments with a 3rd control circuit. “Wow, we really hated it and often we didn’t manage it”, Diana Stange openly admits. “We often asked our dad for help. We found this drawback rather frustrating - normally we both like to do everything ourselves”, Bianca Fuchs adds. When they heard of the new ecs (easy coupler system), they wanted to try the system out in their operation. After their machine and attachments were retrofitted with the ecs, the attachment change was a smooth operation that was both quick and effortless - they needn’t even leave the operator’s seat. “Finally a technical innovation with which changing the attachments is even fun and we can manage the different work tasks quickly and efficiently”, the sisters agree.
