Save, rescue, safeguard
In Landshut the telehandler T6027 supports the fire brigade.
As competent fire brigade for the entire urban area, the volunteer fire brigade in the Municipality of Landshut has a responsible task. Because with 71,000 inhabitants there are several missions per day. In Landshut, these are exclusively executed by voluntary workers. “Luckily the voluntary workers are diverse, meaning there is always an operational and well qualified team ready to move, to save, rescue and safeguard,” Florian Kriegl from the Landshut fire brigade says. All these different missions would not work without technical support. Thus there are a total of 41 vehicles with 15 tags at the fire brigade device houses, standing ready for fast and local missions.
Among these vehicles is a Telehandler T6027 by Weidemann, which the fire brigade purchased in 2016. The diligent helper is stationed at the main fire station in the midst of Landshut. “For us it is important that the telehandler has universal usage,” Florian Kriegl explains. Thus the loader, which can be used outside the main fire station thanks to its 30 km/h fitting, can be employed for e.g. rescuing animals, as fixed point for shaft rescues, during bad weather, while climbing traffic obstructions, for loading and dumping lorries and for the winter service on the own grounds. Also during exercise operations the T6027 diligently helps and, for example, brings the exercise lorry to the practice area. The compact dimensions were another factor for deciding on the fitting machine. Because with an overall height of 2.10 m it perfectly fits into the underground garages under the main fire station and also into other parking houses and underground garages in the urban area.
With these features, the Weidemann vehicle was able to prevail against other competitors in the context of its tendering.
