Hoftrac 1390 - Next Generation

The new generation of the Hoftrac 1390 has a broad array of configurations and its performance, for example in terms of motorization, axles and hydraulic output, can be very well matched to the respective work tasks. Our electronically regulated traction drive, ecDrive (Electronic Controlled Drive), with four different driving modes and electric parking brake, opens up new possibilities for application, comfortable safety and a completely new feeling while driving. The 4-pillar design of the cabin with panoramic rear window offers a significant improvement in visibility from inside the cabin. The excellent spaciousness of the driver's cab and cabin are unique in this size class.

  • The articulated pendulum joint enables all four wheels to maintain traction control even on uneven terrain. This increases the productivity of the machine and gives the operator optimum control.

  • The great advantage of the standard engine is that it complies with exhaust gas standard stage V, but does not require any exhaust gas aftertreatment. This motorization is well suited for light-duty applications, such as simple material handling.
  • The standard engine is a 3-cylinder engine, which impresses with a high torque with corresponding efficiency. The fact that this engine does not require exhaust aftertreatment automatically reduces maintenance costs.

  • The attachment mode perfectly supports the use of hydraulic attachments. In attachment mode, the diesel engine of the machine and the attachment are always optimally utilized. This ensures maximum productivity and the best possible work result. The operator is relieved and can also work for a longer period with the machine in a concentrated manner.
  • In attachment mode, the hand throttle is used to set the speed of the diesel engine and the driving speed is controlled with the low-speed driving device. Using this, speeds can be set very precisely in increments of 0.1 km/h via the display. This guarantees a constant feed for the attachment. If, however, driving or reversing movements need to be performed more quickly, operating the foot pedal at any time will override this and the machine can be run at maximum speed.
  • If the load is too high on the attachment (e.g. cut material of various kinds in front of a mulcher), the machine automatically reduces the driving speed in order to make the highest possible power available to the attachment. If the load is reduced again, the machine returns to the driving speed previously set.

  • The M-Drive mode corresponds to a gas pedal mode. Here, the speed of the diesel engine is set with the hand throttle and the driving speed is controlled with the gas pedal.
  • With the M-Drive mode, the desired engine speed is also always present. Thus, inching is unnecessary. This allows comfortable work with attachments such as a cubical bedder, as well as efficient material handling with very short distances.

  • The hydraulic rapid-change system allows attachments to be exchanged conveniently and quickly. The good view of the rapid-change plate makes changing attachments particularly easy.
  • Changing the attachments is extremely safe thanks to the 2-hand operation when de-coupling.

  • All Weidemann machines have a consistent operating concept with clearly structured and ergonomically arranged switches and keypads. All machines can be operated in a very similar way or in almost the same way. The advantage here is that an operator can quickly find his way around different Weidemann machines and work productively.
  • The Weidemann operating philosophy allows the operator to easily understand the machine. This enables him to orientate himself well and work safely. This can be seen, for example, in recurring elements such as the Jog-Dial, joystick, display, general switch assignments, etc.

Inch brake pedal: Engine output where it is needed.

  • 1. No pressure on the inch-brake pedal: Full power for the traction drive. 2. Lightly pressed inch-brake-pedal: Speed is reduced, more power to the work hydraulics. 3. Strongly pressed inch-brake-pedal: The speed is reduced further, even more power to the work hydraulics. 4. Fully pressed inch-brake-pedal: The wheel loader is stationary, full power to the work hydraulics.
  • The advantages of the inch-brake-pedal: Less wear of the service brake as well as optimum power distribution of the engine output.
  • The inch-brake-pedal and hydrostatic traction drive enable very sensitive work to be done with the machine.

  • The machine can be equipped with a ballast weight (floor plate on the rear carriage) and/or cast iron rear weight. This means that heavier loads can be transported thanks to the higher tipping load.

  • An overhead guard with restraint system is fitted as standard on the compact Hoftracs. The overhead guard and the restraint system for the operator comply with the safety provisions of the current European Machinery Directive according for ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structure) and FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structure). The overhead guard thus fulfills all legal requirements and offers maximum safety.
  • The overhead guard ensures good all-round visibility: The operator always has the work area and the immediate environment of the machine in view. This increases safety when working with the machine.

Increased lifting height and reach with long loading arm

  • In addition to the standard loading arm, many Hoftracs have one, or even several, longer loading arms as an option. The longer loading arm realizes an increased lifting height and reach. This means that there is no need to automatically switch to a larger machine. This makes compact machines even more efficient and flexible in application.
  • In addition to the increased lifting height, the reach of the machine is also increased. This allows, for example, loading and unloading of a trailer with pallet forks, even in the second row.

Folding overhead guard eps (Easy Protection System)

  • Optionally, the Weidemann Hoftracs can also be equipped with the folding overhead guard eps (Easy Protection System). The eps can be folded down manually for a low clearance height in just a few steps. The eps complies with the safety requirements of the current European Machinery Directive for ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structure) and FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structure).
  • The eps increases the flexibility of the machine, as low passages can also be passed. This allows the machine to adapt to the spatial conditions accordingly.

Flexible trailer operation

  • The machine can tow a trailer using the optional trailer hitch. Different systems are available depending on the machine. The maximum possible weight of the trailer depends on the model and equipment.
  • For operation on public roads, the machine must be registered in Germany as a self-propelled working machine and may also only be used within specified limits. Other regulations may apply internationally; the local sales partner will provide information on this.
  • The option of pulling a trailer expands the machine’s range of applications and offers more flexibility in application, as no additional towing vehicle is required.

  • The loader can be equipped at the back with hydro connections (single or double acting). This expands the range of applications of the machine, as rear hydraulic attachments or tipper trailers can be operated.

  • The machine can be optionally equipped with a double-acting hydraulic auxiliary control circuit. The separate 4th control circuit is operated independently and individually and allows the extended application of hydraulic attachments with multiple connections and functions.

Front and/or rear electrical connections

  • The machine can be equipped with front and/or rear electrical connections. This allows electrically operated additional functions of attachments, such as a sweeping machine with water spraying mechanism, to be operated. It is also possible to switch additional functions of hydraulic attachments. The operation is comfortable via the joystick.
  • The electric functions (push/lock) can be individually assigned to the joystick controls if desired.
  • Electrical connections at the front and/or rear ensure that a wide range of attachments can be operated with the machine. This in turn increases the range of applications of the machine.

Pressureless return including leakage oil line

  • Certain attachments with their own hydraulic motor require an unpressurized return line. The hydraulic oil flows back into the hydraulic oil tank via the oil cooler and the oil filter in a large dimensioned separate line. The advantage here is that the attachment can feed the return oil cooled and without increased stagnation pressure back into the hydraulic oil tank. This protects components of the machine and the attachment.
  • The leakage oil line returns the leakage oil of the oil motor to the tank with max. 2 bar if required. This minimizes the casing pressure in the hydraulic motor of the attachment.

Suitable motorization

  • The optional engines have been developed for the professional application of power-demanding attachments. Here, exhaust emission standard V is implemented by installing a diesel particulate filter (DPF) in combination with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC). With this technology, there is no need to add urea solution (DEF).
  • The entire engine unit, including the exhaust gas after-treatment, comes from one manufacturer, so that all components are perfectly compatible with each other and the machine regenerates automatically at the appropriate operating temperature. In case of frequent start-stop operation, manual regeneration is also possible.
  • It is a powerful 3-cylinder Common Rail Motor that impresses with its high power density.

Comfortable and ergonomic operator's seat

  • The driver's seat is ergonomically shaped, well sprung and adjustable. The optional air sprung comfort seat offers even more pleasant conditions. Seat heating is available for cold temperatures. This increases the comfort for the operator. He can thus concentrate on working with the machine for longer periods.
  • Depending on the model, different seats are available to match the size of the machine. The various seat adjustment options allow individual settings for the operator, providing optimum comfort.

Comfortable loading arm damping

  • The loading arm shock absorber can be activated electrically and enables optimum handling of the machine in rough terrain and on the road. It is particularly recommended when the machine transports heavy loads in the bucket or on the pallet fork, or moves a heavy attachment over a long distance at high speed. The loading arm shock absorber provides a significant plus in comfort for the operator.
  • Lifting arm damping prevents the machine from rocking at high travel speeds. This increases safety for the operator and protects the vehicle components by absorbing shocks.

Proportional speed limiter (slow speed device)

  • With the proportional speed limiter (slow speed device), very slow travel speeds can be achieved in the first speed stage at constant engine speed. This offers an advantage when using attachments that are operated at a constant high speed but at a very low driving speed at the same time.
