Swimming, cycling, hiking, relaxing and simply switching off – the “Seeblick” campsite provides its guests with just this on the North-Hessian Diemelsee in all variations. Due to its prime location, the Diemeltalsperre reservoir, the Diemelsteig circular trail and many other leisure attractions are close by. Roger Hillebrand took the campsite over from his grandfather in 1999 and he had developed it in the 1950s. Then, the family still lived off the agriculture. However, the idyllic location at Diemelsee made the area a sought-after holiday destination and this is how the campsite came about little by little.

Today, the Roger Hillebrand and his family operate the campsite. The family greets everyone who would like to enjoy a relaxing stay close to nature between the Sauerland and Waldecker country. At 2.5 ha, the campsite has up to 140 caravans. Most of the guests are long-term campers for the whole year at Diemelsee. Ever more (long-term) campers come from North Rhine-Westphalia and Netherlands to escape the city-life for a while. At Diemelsee they use the time to leave their daily life behind them and to enjoy the weekends and/or holiday. The caravans are a second home for the campers - on the road and yet still at home. Alongside the wonderful view of the idyllic reservoir, the Hillebrand family offer numerous services, like modern and well-maintained sanitary facilities as well as washing machines, tumble driers and so much more.

A Weidemann 1160 ensure order within the holiday paradise.

To make the daily-arising tasks easier, the family opted for the Weidemann 1160 with the Easy Protection System (eps). “I borrowed the Weidemann a few time from our neighbour, who is a farmer. It was about time that the campsite had its own Weidemann”, said the campsite owner. For him the decision to get a Hoftrac by Weidemann was very simple: At the forefront were, alongside quality and manoeuvrability, the regional proximity to the manufacturer and distributor, as well as the option to get a fold-down operator’s cab. The EPS is very well suited to clearance heights of less than two metres. Roger Hillebrand can therefore park the Weidemann directly in his existing garage. As a result, all his expectations that he had before the purchase were best fulfilled.

The Weidemann 1160 is used on the campsite for different areas of application. It is primarily used for transport work, like moving IBC containers, which are used to water the separating hedges. Aside from this, the Weidemann provides support in the disposal of green waster, rubbish and used glass. With the right attachments the goods are safely and efficiently transported. Due to its manoeuvrability, the 1160 is very well suited to the narrow campsite paths. Even the existing slopes and unpaved areas are not a problem for this machine.

Additionally, it was very important to Roger Hillebrand that the purchase itself was both fast and simple. At the Weidemann dealer, Janson, from Adorf he had the opportunity to receive extensive advice on the Weidemann machines and was able to view different models there. Together with the sales advisor Franca Gerhold, he decided upon the 1160, which ideally suits his operation. Additionally, the distributor has a workshop on the doorstep. As a result, he need never worry about possible machine downtimes.

The operation on the campsite runs throughout the year - the Weidemann does too!

For a better view and to be able to use during the darker times of the year both Hillebrand sons also affixed additional work lights to the machine. Next on the shopping list is a rubber blade to clear the snow on the campsite, so that the 1160 is ideally prepared for allyear- round application. “Due to the uneven pathways, I think a rubber blade is more suitable than a proper snow blade”, Roger Hillebrand went on to say. He is happy that does not need to complete all his heavy jobs by hand any more.
