Think electric - new Hoftrac 1290e.
New Weidemann Hoftrac 1290e with lithium-ion battery.
For those who wish to avoid Co2 exhaust emissions, noise and soot particles in buildings and while working, they can work completely free from emissions and with a significant noise reduction (zero emission) on-site with the new electrically-driven 1290e by Weidemann. In the agricultural and equine industry this protects both the operator and the valuable livestock in equal measure. In the municipal sector this presents special considerations for use of the machines in cemetery work, in the builder’s yard or in inner city environmental zones. Emission-free and low-noise working likewise plays an increasingly important role in the hotel industry, business and industry sectors.
A compact, fully-electric wheel loader already has traditional value at Weidemann: already since 2015, Weidemann has successfully had zero-emission machines on the market. Many customers would not do away with an electrically-driven machine in their everyday working life. With the 1290e, Weidemann is now closing a gap in the Hoftrac sector. The series therefore includes three models with finely graduated performance: the 1190e (tipping load in the bucket centre of gravity, straight 1,320 to 1,680 kg), 1290e (1,580 to around 1,700 kg) and the 1390e (1,670 to 2,280 kg) so that the right machine can be selected for the different operating sizes and equipment.
Coordinated with the different application purposes, the 1290e is available with a selection of different operator platforms. The fixed overhead guard, the fold-down overhead guard eps (Easy Protection System), which is intended for low clearances. Furthermore, with the comfortable cabin there is the option to use the loader independent of the weather.
Particularly noteworthy of the 1290e is the newly developed front carriage with a clearly optimised loading system. The widely designed tower and the large storage of the boom, combined with the large cylinders ensure a very good performance when loading and stacking. The hosing of the hydraulics has been designed in favour of the metal pipework. These run laterally from the cross beam so that the view through the boom is very good. Additionally, the tipping cylinder and lifting cylinder are arranged in alignment with one another so that the view is likewise clearer. Ideal parallel guidance rounds off optimisation of the loading system. In the standard version the 1290e exhibits a maximum lift height at the buck pivotal point of 2.83 m. A long boom with a lift height of 3.10 m is optionally available.
Furthermore, the new 1290e provides customers with advantageous features and options for customised equipment and needs-based working - here is an overview of the other features:
There is a total of 3 maintenance-free lithium-ion batteries to choose from: the standard battery is 14.1 kWh, optional batteries are available at 18.7 kWh and 23.4 kWh. Additionally, a 3-kW on-board battery charger is installed in the standard version. A second 3 kW on-board battery charger can be optionally selected to increase the charge capacity to 6 kW, which is above all suitable for medium and large batteries to generate a fast charging time.
An integrated Battery Management System (BMS) with clearly increased charging current, pre-heating to operating temperature, short-term provision of performance peaks, as well as permanent monitoring of the battery temperature - this increase the battery’s efficiency and categorically excludes the possibility of a deep-discharge.
The charging process is performed via an easily accessible, central charging cover on the right-hand side of the machine. Behind it you will find the socket, the activation switch and the charge indicator. To increase the level of safety, the charging cable is equipped with a control box. This reliably prevents the charging infrastructure from being overloaded.
The charging cable (Type 2 plug on the machine side) can be combined with a number of different plugs: 230 V Schuko, 400 V or Type 2 plugs with a Wallbox (plus other adapter plugs). Overall, the tried-and-tested, flexible charging system offers an efficient and safe charging process and is compatible with various infrastructures on-site.
Two separate electric motors are used in the machine: one for the drive (6.5 kW) and one for the drive system of the work hydraulics (8.5 kW). This minimises the power consumption, because the performance is only drawn when it is really needed. The electric motor for the drive also allows a dynamic and powerful start-up of the machine.
The particularly safe, electric parking brake provides both an auto-hold as well as hill-hold function. The brake automatically activates if the machine stands still, the direction of travel is set to neutral or the operator leaves the seat. Likewise, the parking brake is automatically released if the machine is put into gear using the accelerator. Naturally, the brake can likewise be manually activated and deactivated by operating a switch. Also, the brake system enables gaining back the so-called recuperation energy, which also extends the running time.
The continuous adjustment of the oil volume of the 3rd control circuit enables the use of attachments, which are operated with hydraulic continuous function. As a result, the oil volume can be individually adjusted to the respective attachment. This enables the operator to work in a comfortable and efficient way with the machine and the attachment.
The boom dampening enables optimal handling of the machine on impassable terrain and while travelling on the road. It is especially recommended if the machine transports high loads in the bucket or on a pallet fork, or if a heavy attachment is moved across a long stretch at high speed. In this case, the boom dampening provides a clear advantage to the operator in terms of comfort.
Where flexible application is required at several locations, the 1290e can be effortlessly transported on a 3.5 t trailer.
Even with the new 1290e Weidemann offers a sophisticated cabin version - ideal for all-year-round use. The cabin makes it possible to work both comfortably and safely, and offers a lot of features that actively support the operator in their daily work tasks:
Despite the compact design, the cabin provides adequate space for the operator and enables easy entry and exit with anti-slip step treads.
The excellent all-round visibility from the machine is based on deep-drawn windows, a generous roof cut-out and a reduced and sloped tail.
A thought-out heating concept for all requirements provides increased comfort: Electric-heated front and rear window for optimal visibility in any weather, standard heater, comfort heater with even more power, as well as roof-panel heater for a pleasant, radiating warmth from above.
Optimal ventilation, eve without air-conditioning: the doors to the right and left can locked for gap ventilation, both can be opened 180°. The rear windscreen can also be opened.
Good interior design with a colour-oriented operating concept, multifunction joystick and ergonomically designed display enable safe and comfortable working conditions.
More equipment features for the cabin: DAB+ radio, right armrest height-adjustable, adjustable steering column, comfortable operator’s seat (with heating/air suspension) and diverse storage compartments.
