Weidemann supports event management at the Erfurt trade fair
Messe Erfurt GmbH now has the second-largest exhibition terrain in the new states. Around 200 events take place here annually, with over 7,000 exhibitors and approximately 600,000 visitors. The grounds consist of about 25,000 m² of exhibition area and comprise a multi-purpose hall, two trade fair halls and one convention centre. In addition, a 21,600 m² large open-air site is also part of the trade fair.
With such a large ground area, it takes a while for material to move from A to B. More than anything, it is the time pressure that is high when preparing for such events and everything needs to run smoothly. For this reason, the Erfurt trade fair is receiving support from Weidemann. For some trade fairs, a Weidemann is borrowed for the HFT lifting and handling technology. The wheel loaders and telehandlers from Weidemann are particularly suitable, for the two large trade fairs “Riding – Hunting – Fishing” and “Green Days Thuringia”, among others. Lots of sand and soil have to be relocated here and a Weidemann with a large bucket is very well suited to this purpose. But the Weidemann can be used to transport more than just bulk material. Trade fair equipment – such as tent poles, horse stalls or cow ties – can also be conveniently driven to the site of application. “The Weidemann already makes our work easier, above all to be able to move heavy things,” says Maik Mendler, who is responsible for the event and building services at the Erfurt trade show. A Weidemann is therefore not only the ideal partner for agriculture, but it also proves its versatile application areas at numerous trade fairs and events.
