The T4512 telescopic loader is in use at the Möller's dairy cattle operation.

On the Möller family's farm at Röhrda in East Hessen, 80 dairy cows, 30 young animals and a herd of around 30 Limousin cows have to be fed every day. As a second string to back up the dairy business, the have built up a cattle fattening and breeding program in recent years. For this, the embryo transfer method is used, in other words the HF dairy cows are fertilised with embryos from the Limousin breeding programme. On the farm, 200 hectares are currently under management – this includes 120 hectares with rapeseed, barley, wheat and maize, as well as approximately 80 hectares of green space.

An articulated Weidemann Hoftrac was for many years the true companion for the operation. After a few years, the machines then had to be replaced. In autumn 2014, a telescopic loader in the form of the T4512 came to the Möllers for the first time. Existing attachments, such as the manure fork and buckets in two sizes, can advantageously continue in use. New additions were a shovel plate and a grapple rake, in order to deal with a variety of tasks properly.

Torsten Möller bought the new machine based purely on advice – a new experience for him and a far cry from central pivot steering to a telescopic loader. Weidemann's area manager, Alfred Feit was on site with Heiko Hesse from Janson Landtechnik in Waldkappel. They discussed together what the machinery on the farm had done hitherto and what a machine should be capable of in the future. They then concluded that the T4512 telescopic loader was the way forward. "This was quick and conclusive, and we were very well advised by our dealer. When we took delivery, the neighbouring farmers or people from the district said to us that they were amazed at what we wanted to do for our business with such a small machine. To help them with the preliminary assessment, we showed them everything that can be done with this telescopic loader – then, the judgement always changed to: "Incredible, it is 6 times as good." They were simply amazed that a machine of such compact construction can deliver such a performance.

The T4512 is absolutely right for our size of business," according to Torsten Möller concerning his new acquisition, which will save him between 400 and 500 working hours a year. In addition to feeding the animals with a silo, moving the fodder, cereal loading, round ball method and mucking out the young animals' stalls, the machine will be used for many different activities at two operating sites. "It is crazily versatile – many jobs became apparent only if we had the telescopic loader on the farm", says Tanja Möller, who is also on the road every day with the T4512. The Möllers are also pleased that different people helping them can work quickly and without any problems with the user-friendly machine. The high degree of stability and the vls driver assistance system make the telescopic loader easy to use for an extended circle of users.
