Old love does not die.
Three students of 9th grade from the Eichenbachschule in Eggebek in the Schleswig-Flensburg district have restored an old Weidemann feed box from the year 1994 as part of their final project.
Marlon Godbersen (16), Felix Stahl (16) and Shawn Schröder (15) were given the task by their school in November 2018 to develop a project for their final assignment. This consists of a theoretical and practical part as well as a presentation. Marlon worked on a nearby farm in his spare time. Since the farmer still had an old feed box that had to be restored since a long time, the three students gladly took up this task and the final project was found.
The project took a lot of time. The students required over 30 hours for grinding the individual parts. The painting work lasted for another three weeks, since the ambient temperature at this time was too low. The project was completed after four months of passionate and intensive work. As expected, the presentation of the restored feed box took place in the farmer's calf barn, where the students had to feed the calves.
“We particularly enjoyed the project since we could turn something old into a completely new and beautiful device”, explained the three students with pride. And since the farmer had an old Weidemann Hoftrac, the machine and the new feed box now complement each other perfectly again.
