V.l.n.r.: Anton Hargassner jun. (Hargassner GmbH), Gebietsverkäufer Peter Grabner (Mauch Ges.m.b.H & Co.KG) und Markus Hargassner (Hargassner GmbH) bei der Übergabe des neuen 1280.

Hargassner's Weidemann 1160 has recently been joined by the Weidemann 1280, the next size of machine up, complete with cab.

The Austrian company Hargassner has been producing wood chip systems for more than 30 years and pellet systems for more than 20 years. With a workforce of more than 240, the company is a well-known employer in the Austrian region of Innviertel. The heating systems are sold in more than 30 countries. The main export countries are Germany, France, Switzerland and Italy. At the heart of the company is the in-house research and development department at the company’s head office in Weng. The new Weidemann 1280 is also “deployed” there. Its tasks include transporting wood chips and fuel and industrial cleaning with the rotary sweeper. In the colder seasons, the Weidemann 1280 is used as a winter work vehicle to clear snow and ice from the company’s premises. So that drivers don’t get a raw deal in the cold weather, the 1280 comes complete with a cab.

The purchase of a second Hoftrac was needed as the dimensions of the 1160 were no longer sufficient for newer forms of work. The Weidemann 1280 impressed everyone with the extent of its manoeuvrability. As a 30 km/h version, it is able to travel faster over the ever-expanding company site and, thanks to its TÜV road circulation approval, it can also be driven on public highways. “In addition to the quality of our existing Weidemann, the reason we purchased another was mainly down to the regional sales representative, Peter Grabner (Mauch GmbH). We have known Peter for a long time, so cooperation was easy. Discussions with Mauch in Burgkirchen regarding our requirements of the new farm loader were all very friendly,” said Anton Hargassner Junior. “Mauch are just as impressive when it comes to service,” added Anton Hargassner Jr., “if we need someone, there is always someone available. The proximity of our company with Mauch, as a Weidemann importer, is naturally an advantage.”
