Riders on horses

There is an absolute paradise for horses and riders at the riding facility Gut Heinrichshof in Kleinröhrsdorf. Gut is widely known for its modern open stable concept.

It is not surprising that Gut Heinrichshof was awarded in the state competition of Sachsen as the “Operation with excellent animal husbandry” in the year 2017/2018. The advantages of an open stable are great: The animals can move freely, are in the fresh air and can decide for themselves when they will have social contact with other conspecifics. In addition, open stable provides a natural habitat for the animals. In all there are six different open stable groups. Here, it is important to find the right group for each horse. e.g. there are mixed groups, gelding groups or special diet groups. e.g. particularly in case of older horses, it is ensured that they do not have too long travel to feed. Whereas younger horses can have a daily running performance of up to 20 km in particular in summer, when the long paths to the pasture are open. This promotes the natural need for movement of the animals.

Enjoy the benefits of an extreme trail.

Over 80 horses are sheltered at Gut Heinrichshof, who are looked after by eight employees. With such a large number of horses, it is not surprising that over 1,200 bales of hay are fed each year. For this, the plant manager Stefan Seyfarth ensures outstanding quality of the hay. In order to guarantee this, he has entered into cooperation with farmers in the vicinity. They provide hay in the desired quantity and quality. Heinrichshof has a total area of over 34 ha. Thereof 9.2 ha cover grassland and the farmstead is spread across one hectare. The riding facility also includes a 60 m long riding hall, a lunging arena with ebb and flow system and an extreme trail. In the extreme trail, the rider and horse must overcome obstacles together (made exclusively of natural materials). While doing this, it is important that the horse overcomes the obstacles in the middle, at a steady, slow pace and with a free posture of head.

Innovative technologies.

In order to cope with the daily tasks, the plant manager Stefan Seyfarth has decided upon a Weidemann 1160 eHoftrac, which is equipped with a Euro quickcoupler. “The electric loader is very quiet and comfortable to drive. Even the battery life is great. We did not think that before”, explained Stefan Seyfarth. Furthermore, the machine is emission-free – which is an enormous advantage for the health and well-being of the horses. Gut Heinrichshof has its own photovoltaic system on the roof. Thus, in-house electricity can also be optimally used for the eHoftrac. In addition to eHoftrac, the farm also has an electric wheelbarrow in use, which is used daily.

Significantly lower diesel consumption.

Another decisive point for the purchase of the 1160 eHoftrac is the manoeuvrability and compactness of the machine. “We need a small machine that can also drive through narrow stable walkways”, clarified Stefan Seyfarth. The daily use of the machine is at least 4 - -5 hours. eHoftrac is used for the first time in the morning at 7:00 a.m. The Gut Heinrichshof is equipped with a lightweight bucket, pallet fork and a mulcher for the necessary work. After purchasing the machine, diesel consumption has also been noticeably reduced, which particularly pleases the plant manager.
