Good equipment is a motivator.

The contractor Gösch provides work for agriculture and forestry, as well as municipalities and private individuals. Since 2020, both father and son have been supported by a Weidemann 9580T.

Joachim Gösch founded a contractor in agricultural and forestry work on 11/11/1972. Little by little more and more enquiries came through on the municipal side until now when 50 % of its tasks are for municipalities and 50 % are for agriculture and private customers. Since 2002, his son, Jan Oliver Gösch, has been engaged in the family business and since 2012 he has shared the managing role with his father. The pair manage a team of five employees and three stand-ins who all have a fixed area of application. In doing this, each employee has their own assigned machine for which they are responsible for care and maintenance. “It is important to provide employees with enough time for looking after the machine”, Joachim Gösch highlights, “it is only if the machines are regularly lubricated, maintained and cleaned that we can use them for a long time and sell them well again.” On average, a machine runs in operation for about ten years in Schleswig-Holstein, no matter whether it is a tractor, excavator or wheel loader. “We do not constantly drive a vehicle at the limit”, explains Jan Gösch, “if in doubt, we would rather use a smaller bucket and drive an extra load cycle. As a result, the machines don’t reach their wear threshold as quickly and clearly run for longer and more reliably. It takes a long time for the Weidemann to reach its load limit and for the overload indicator to come on, and we can therefore hope for a long service life.”

Among the work provided by the Gösch company is essentially the maintenance and development of agricultural roads, mowing and green waste management, laying and repairing drains, care of raised verges and clean-up work, as well as a winter service. As a lot of this work can be commissioned by the municipalities, it was advisable to select orange as the fleet colour. This colour also means additional safety when working in traffic and increases the recognition value of the agricultural service. Thus the new Weidemann 9580T was also supplied in the communal orange. The special colour and some other equipment, which makes the operator’s working day easier, made the wish list. “Here the operator’s are allowed to play a part in the decision of which machines we buy and the equipment we have. At the end of the day, they are the ones sitting on the machine for ten hours of the day”, explain Joachim and Jan Gösch in unison. “The operator has to feel comfortable and have good working conditions.” Therefore, the Weidemann was of course also tested by employees. “As the operator left the machine with a huge grin across his face, it was clear where the journey was headed”, Jan Gösch reminisces, who himself drives the large 11-tonne tele wheel loader by Weidemann.

After the old telehandler promptly left the yard, there was a large gap until the delivery of the new tele wheel loader from Weidemann. However, this gap was filled by the Weidemann sales partner, Doormann & Koppling, with an interim machine. “It is important to us that we have a dealer who is able to continue to help us quickly and without complication.
