Full POWER, everyday
Abwassertechnik GmbH & Co. KG in Weißensee uses a 3080LP with 50 hp engine for transporting concrete.
30 concrete containers and special elements are manufactured at Abwassertechnik GmbH & Co. KG plant on a daily basis. It became clear they needed a helper to master the accruing works. “The decision for Weidemann was an easy one”, sales manager Henrik Lange says. The company have been customer at HFT Hebe- und Fördertechnik in Mühlhausen, Thüringen, since a long time and have obtained forklifts via the dealer in the past. “Initially, I wanted to buy a second forklift. Then I decided for a 3080LP as a replacement for a lift truck”, Henrik Lange adds. Since autumn 2017, the Weidemann wheel loader runs under full load for several hours per day. Working with concrete creates a high amount of dust and dirt pollution. For this reason, the 3080LP received a protective wax layer.
The machine has two main tasks: For one it brings the ready-mixed concrete from the mixing plant to the die cast moulds to pitch it precisely. For another, the 3080LP pushes back sand and gravel required for the concrete into the departments of the bunker so that the sliding crane can grab the material more easily. To manage these tasks, the operation has added two attachments to their inventory on stock: a skip for the concrete and a light materials bucket. Planned next are a sweeper to free the paths from dust. To give the machine extra counterweight while transporting the skip, its wheels are filled with water. The skip can weigh up to 1,200 kg.
Abwassertechnik GmbH & Co. KG currently employ over 40 employees and will celebrate their 60-year existence this summer. The company manufactures, amongst others, precast concrete parts for septic tanks, cisterns and balcony slabs. A balcony slab can weigh up to 8 tonnes. The mixing process for one load of concrete takes approx. 8 minutes. Subsequently, the concrete has to dry for 24 hours until it can be taken out of the die cast mould. To deliver the concrete slabs to customers four lorries are employed. “There are many uneven paths on our grounds. But this is no problem for the Weidemann”, Henrik Lange says pleased. Moreover, the combination of tipping load and lift height convinced us. You can drive the machine close to the die cast mould, and with the help of the hydraulics, pitching the concrete is easily handled. “During the purchase decision we also discussed Diesel. But since all Weidemann machines meet the statutory norms, we have nothing to fear,” Henrik Lange interjects. The two employees trained for the machine are very happy with the 3080LP and look forward to more attachments in the future.
