“Dad, think about what we can do with the Hoftrac tomorrow!”
On the Mühlenhof farm in the Bavarian Holzgünz, a Hoftrac 1190e has been in use since 2023
Already prior to the electric machine, the farm had a diesel Weidemann. For owner Jochen Stiegeler the benefits of an e-loader were obvious. “We have no more emissions in the stable, the machine is also very quiet and you are able to have a conversation without any background noise. This also increases safety, because I can always communicate effortlessly with my employees,” explains the farmer. In addition to this, the resale value of the old Weidemann was very good, which presented an additional purchase advantage for another Weidemann.
It is just as big on automation and technology.
In the stable with over 160 dairy cows, which was newly built in 2015, three milking robots and a feed robot are used alongside the 1190e, which are all charged with the farm’s own power from the photovoltaic system. On the farm, personal power use is approx. 60 %.
Even Junior is satisfied.
The 1190e is equipped with a 3 kW standard battery charger, a battery of 14.1 kWh, an overhead guard, and tires with a 1.20 m width. The loader runs approx. 600 operating hours per year. Included within its tasks are cleaning out food residue, transportation of straw bales and bulk materials, and sweeping tracks. “One battery charge is sufficient for us each day. We charge the machine overnight,” explains Jochen Stiegeler. Even his son (5) has discovered the Hoftrac and the evenings often bring with them the question: “Dad, think about what we can do with the Hoftrac tomorrow!” The bottom line from Jochen Stiegeler is satisfying: “We would buy the machine again and again!”
